Robustness of structured feedback interconnections
Project description
The project pertains to stability and performance certification for structured feedback interconnections, with a view to exploiting structure for scalability, and to accommodating time-varying and non-linear characteristics. The aim of the project is to develop analytical and computational tools for model based assessment of robustness properties. The approach involves functional analysis, mathematical systems theory, numerical methods. Challenges of interest range from performance certification for linear time-varying feedback interconnects, a problem that can arise in various contexts, including the design rotating machinery such as wind turbines, to the analysis of cyber-physical networks (ie: continuous-time dynamical sub-systems that interact over a digital communication network via asynchronous sampling for the purpose of cooperation or competition).
